The steps

1. 1

   Place your typing cursor at the end of a word you want to erase. The vertical cursor line blinks directly after the last letter of the word.

   Why not just tap Backspace repeatedly?

   Tapping Backspace 10 times to delete one word is slow. Holding Ctrl deletes the entire word in one single tap.

   Hold Ctrl and press Backspace. The entire word before the cursor vanishes instantly with one tap.

   

3. 3

   To jump through text without deleting anything, hold Ctrl and press the Left or Right arrow keys. The cursor leaps over entire words from space to space instead of crawling letter by letter.

To delete the word ahead of the cursor (to the right of your cursor in English), press Ctrl+Delete.
