The steps
- 1
Copy any text normally from a web page or document using CtrlC (or right-click and click Copy). The text is stored on your clipboard along with whatever fonts, colors, and background highlights it had.
Why does normal paste look messy?
Normal CtrlV copies website styling (huge headings, odd fonts, grey backgrounds) into your neat document.
- 2
Click where you want to insert the text inside your email, document, or chat app. The typing cursor blinks at your chosen location.

- 3
Press CtrlShiftV on your keyboard. The text appears cleanly as pure plain text, matching your document's existing font, size, and color perfectly.
It looks different on my screen
In right-click menus, look for an icon with a capital letter A or an option labeled Paste as plain text.
