The steps

   Open your web browser and go to nodejs.org↗. The official Node.js website opens showing two download buttons (LTS and Current).

   What is Node.js?

   Node.js allows your computer to run JavaScript outside of a web browser, which is essential for modern web development, creating servers, and using front-end tools.

   Click the button labeled LTS (Recommended for Most Users). The .msi Windows installer file begins downloading.

   

   Why choose LTS instead of Current?

   LTS stands for Long Term Support. It is the most stable and reliable version with the best package compatibility for beginners.

   Open the downloaded installer and click Next through the setup wizard. The installer asks you to accept the terms and select installation location.

   Leave the default settings selected and click Install. The installer copies Node.js and the NPM package manager to your system.

   Click Finish when the installation completes. The wizard closes and Node.js is ready for use in any terminal.

If the installer asks whether to automatically install tools for native modules (like Chocolatey and Python), you can leave that checkbox unchecked as it is not needed for beginner web development.
