The steps
- 1
Click the group of icons (Wi-Fi, Volume, and Battery) in the bottom-right corner of your taskbar, or press WinA. The Quick Settings flyout panel opens up showing shortcut tiles and sliders.
What is the Quick Settings panel?
The Quick Settings panel gives you fast, one-click access to the everyday controls you change most often without digging through full system menus.
- 2
Drag the brightness slider (marked with a sun icon) left to dim the screen or right to make it brighter. Your monitor immediately changes its brightness level in real time as you drag the slider.

- 3
To reduce eye strain at night, click the Night light tile to turn it on. Your display shifts from harsh cold blue tones to warmer, soothing amber colors.

On desktop computers with separate standalone monitors, you may need to adjust brightness using the physical buttons located along the edge of your monitor frame.
