The steps

   Right-click your PDF file, hover over Open with, and click Microsoft Edge. Your PDF document opens in the Edge browser window with a dedicated PDF toolbar across the top.

   Why use Microsoft Edge for PDFs?

   Microsoft Edge comes pre-installed on every Windows computer and has a free, built-in PDF editor with drawing, text filling, and signature tools — completely eliminating the need to buy paid PDF software.

   To write your signature by hand or with your mouse, click Draw (the pen icon) in the top toolbar. A small menu opens allowing you to pick pen color (such as dark blue or black) and line thickness.

   Move your mouse to the signature line on the document, hold the left mouse button, and draw your signature. Your handwritten signature appears smoothly on the document line.

   To type printed text or dates into blank form boxes, click Add text (the T icon), click the blank field, and type your information. A neat text box places your typed words directly onto the document.

   Click the Save icon (the floppy disk) in the top bar to keep your changes, or click Save as to create a separate signed copy. Your signed document is saved to your computer, ready to attach to an email.

If your PDF automatically opened in another program where you cannot find the draw tool, right-click the PDF file on your computer, choose Open with, and explicitly choose Microsoft Edge.
