Why does my Wi-Fi say connected but web pages will not load?

The steps

1. 1

   Click the network icon in the bottom-right corner of your taskbar. The network panel opens showing your Wi-Fi name with a label that says No internet, secured.

   

   What does 'No Internet, Secured' mean?

   It means your computer is talking successfully to your home router, but the router is having trouble communicating with your Internet Service Provider.

   Click the Disconnect button on your Wi-Fi network, wait 5 seconds, and reconnect to your Wi-Fi network. Your computer reconnects and attempts to establish a fresh IP address.

   If pages still do not load, click the Airplane mode button in the Quick Settings panel, wait 10 seconds, then turn it off again. The wireless network adapter restarts completely.

   If the issue continues, unplug the power cord from the back of your home router/modem, wait 30 seconds, and plug it back in. The lights on your router will blink and turn solid green or blue after 2 minutes.

Check whether other devices (like your mobile phone) can load websites on the same Wi-Fi. If phones cannot load pages either, your internet service provider may be having an area outage.
